Pañca Sīla Yācanā – Request for the Five Precepts
Pañca Sīla Yācanā is the traditional request made to a Buddhist monk when lay devotees wish to undertake the Five Precepts together with the Three Refuges. The request is traditionally repeated three times. Different Pāli wording is used depending on whether the Precepts are being requested by a group or by one person.
